This is by far the best investment I've made in my years of mechanical keyboarding. I only wish that I had done it sooner, as testing out so many different switches side by side was highly educational.
I've only bought Tactile switches to this point, but kept seeing various Youtubers preferring linears, and getting excellent-sounding keyboards out of them, but I didn't know where to start if I were to go down that route. Now that I've tested 14 different linears side by side, I know that I really like the feel of the Clione Limacina and Box Black - they both have minimal spring ping, and have enough spring weight that they feel like almost-tactile at the start of travel.
Using this tester with my existing tactile switches, I've determined which ones are good, great and kinda crap.
As for clicky-type switches, I now know that some have among the best tactile feel, but are so noisy that I cannot justify them for myself.

And the best thing, is if you give this to a friend who is mildly interested in mechanical keyboards, they make their own discoveries! It's both educational for yourself, and allows you to share the hobby with others!
